DC (direct current) Circuit: an electrical circuit that consists of a DC voltage source, such as a battery or DC power supply, connected to various electrical components, such as resistors, capacitors, and inductors, in a closed loop. In a DC circuit, the electric charge flows in one direction only, from the positive terminal of the voltage source to the negative terminal.

AC (alternative current) circuit: 

It is an electrical circuit that operates with an alternating current waveform, which periodically reverses direction. AC circuits are commonly used in power distribution systems, home appliances, and electronic devices. In an AC circuit, the voltage and current vary sinusoidally with time, with a frequency measured in Hertz (Hz).

Transformers and electrical machines: 

These are two types of devices commonly used in electrical engineering.
A transformer is an electrical device that is used to transfer electrical energy from one circuit to another through electromagnetic induction. It consists of two coils of wire wound around a magnetic core, with the coils typically referred to as the primary and secondary windings. Electrical machines, on the other hand, are devices that convert electrical energy into mechanical energy, or vice versa. They include motors, generators, and transformers, among others. Electric motors convert electrical energy into mechanical energy.

DC machine: 

Also known as a direct current machine, is an electrical machine that converts direct current electrical power into mechanical power or vice versa. It operates on the principle of the magnetic field interaction between a rotor and a stator
There are two types of DC machines: the DC motor and the DC generator. The DC motor converts electrical energy into mechanical energy, while the DC generator converts mechanical energy into electrical energy.

Basic Electrical Devices:

There are many essential electrical devices, but here are a few examples:

  1. Diode: A device that allows current to flow in only one direction and is used in circuits to rectify AC current to DC current.
  2. Transistor: A semiconductor device that amplifies or switches electrical signals and is widely used in electronic devices such as computers and televisions.
  3. A thyristor: is a type of semiconductor device that is widely used in power electronics applications. It is also known as a Silicon Controlled Rectifier (SCR). Thyristors are used in various applications such as voltage regulators, power supplies, motor control, lighting control, and inverter circuits
